Fostering International Collaboration: GTCF Meets Academics in Malaysia

Hafsah Felgouma |

On the 16th December 2025, GTCF Managing Director Dr. Abdurrahman visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to engage with leading academics from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), one of Southeast Asia’s premier institutions dedicated to integrating Islamic knowledge with modern scholarship.

A major highlight of the trip was Dr. Abdurrahman’s visit to the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation (ISTAC), a postgraduate research institute affiliated with IIUM that focuses on advanced studies in Islamic thought, civilisation, and cultural research. ISTAC stands as a hub for deep intellectual engagement, dedicated to revitalising Islamic scholarship in broader civilisational contexts and nurturing scholars who can contribute to global understanding and sustainable development.

This visit reflects GTCF’s ongoing commitment to global collaboration, strengthening relationships with institutions that share a vision for promoting thoughtful dialogue, academic excellence, and meaningful community impact. Through these exchanges, we continue to expand opportunities for our community to engage with international research, cultural exchange, and educational development.

Stay tuned for updates on future partnerships and joint initiatives emerging from this promising collaboration.
